    I like deion as a player in the nfl,however hes completely un interested in respecting,developing and training anyone whos not a 1st to 3rd draft pick day 1 on his roster. Hell if you are a starter hes trying to replace you. If you don't start hes sending legal representation to meet with you for an exit meeting. The whole relationship is transactional and superficial. If the man isnt playing you for anytime you stand in a room with him it would just be a waste of time.

    I'm one of those Ohio State fans.... I'm calling for Ryan Day's head if he doesn't win it all. You can call it fringe or irrational all you want, I refuse to live another decade under John Cooper. Which ironically they are the same coach at Ohio State. Both have successful win totals, talent, top rankings, etc... But they ALWAYS seem to lose to Michigan and their bowl games. The rest of the nation may be ok with that but I am not. Coaching at Ohio State or Michigan comes with 3 goals EVERY SINGLE YEAR and if you consistently show that you are inept to do so, then you are subject to being fired. 1. Beat the other 2. Win the big ten 3. Compete for a championship Yes Ryan Day has proven that he can compete for a chip.. And now with the new playoff layout he will most likely always have us in the playoffs...I get it. But... The hc job at Ohio State is more nuanced than that. You look at Ryan Day's overall record and success on a grand scale compared to every other coach and program across the country and think "he's one of the best in the nation". I look at his record against Michigan, why we have lost to them consistently since he took over, and what weaknesses do we have since he's taken control over the program. Culture. Michigan has beaten us the last 3 years with the same product that we've beaten PAC 12 teams in the past with. Run the ball, defense, and control the line of scrimmage. We've had some of the greatest backs in the country for nearly 2 decades and yet the past 5 years, the use of our running game has gone down substantially. WHY? Ohio State has always been predicated on a great front 7 defense that stuffs the run and gets after the QB, yet sacks and run defense has substantially stunk the past 5 years, WHY? Ohio State has had some of the best line men in the country that used to allow our QBs time to create, yet the past 5 years our linemen have been sub par in development. WHY?! CULTURE. Ryan Day has turned a mid west, run heavy, physical, powerhouse into a sling it across the field, soft, air raid, fancy, diva, powerhouse. It's possible to still be a powerhouse but not have the right culture. Ryan Day does not fit the culture of Ohio. He has no ties to Ohio. I don't think he fully embraces the Ohio mentality when it comes to big ten football and beating Michigan. So that's why I can't stand him. But this year is perfect for everyone. Because now there's no more excuses for that man... Didn't have a QB last year? You got plenty now. Couldn't beat Michigan? Jim is gone. Couldn't make the playoffs? There's 12 teams now and you are playing the weakest schedule we've had under your tenure. Couldn't keep talent around to buy into your system? Largest returning talent we've had in a while. Not enough portal talent? You grabbed some of the best talent there is in the country. There's no more excuses. Everything that everybody says Ryan Day needs to do better is in play this season, so don't go changing the goal posts now.... I'm sick of hearing that "he's a great coach and hasn't won yet"... This is the year to prove it. Because as it stands for me, he's a great coach for a different program and not Ohio State. So when he fails to meet expectations again this season, don't make up any excuses. He has everything he needs this year. Dude has the most stacked roster and coaching staff in the country this year, but Josh is really gonna sit there and say anything short of not winning a championship is not a failure, but within the same breath say Ryan Day is still an elite coach LMAO give Kirby Smart exactly what Ryan Day has right now at Ohio State and I guarantee Kirby is beating everyone by 40

    I think if A&M has fully acclimated to this coaching staff they’ll probably finish 9-3 & miss playoffs by finishing 13th. Also I really like this QB room as we’ve seen these 2nd & 3rd stringers ball out when needed. Give them a good oline that consistent & doesn’t injure QBs or HBs & they’ll do great. Already hearing great things from both UT & A&M locker rooms

    Rick Telander, in his 1988 book The Hundred Yard Lie, predicted all this. He said we'd split off the big boys from the smaller teams. (In his book, he referred to the formation of the "AGPFL" -- Age Group Professional Football League.) Said we'd have salaries, contracts, and you would be allowed to play in the AGPFL for four years before having to move on. Dr. Murray Sperber's 1991 book College Sports Inc. wasn't quite as specific, and he covered sports as a whole and not just football, but he too predicted the death of the NCAA amateurism model. People with brains have known for a long time that this was coming.

    Simple, CFB is in direct competition with NFL, that is all this is. It will be ever more games to make ever more money to pay players ever more money. CFB is smart, instill a cap before this gets out of control... but it will still get out of control, because if they keep cap at, say, 30 Million a year, then the players will form a union, then you have a CBA. The schools are trying to front run ALL players careers, not so much Vball, Bball etc, but football because that sport has the highest % chance you getting torn up before you can make real money. Recall, it used to be 11 games to a Natty, now what are we gonna be at 12, 13 BEFORE you even get to the playoff? So 2 years at 17 games is? 2 NFL Seasons before... the NFL itself. It is just a competition for the use of the bodies in exchange for money. How many times you see kids carrying the ball 30 + times a game, every game as an RB? Why? They want the use of that body BEFORE it breaks... and then they just send it off to the NFL. They keep adding games, but that doesn't make a body stronger. Every single game, touch etc. is a chance at injury, head, knee, whatever. All that is happening is CFB is trying to stay ahead of the money. As in as long as the payout is less than a certain % of revenue, all is well. They didn't add a playoff to be 'fair' they did it to add more revenue, that's all. $300 MILLION seems like a lot right? How about it being 1 billion in 5 years if they don't take this step now? There will be a CBA, there will be a players union, 100% this will happen, this will likely get spearheaded by former NFL or CFB players, there will be lawyers, this will happen. This is the sound of inevitability. They need to protect this money because keep in mind... many university pensions and endowments A) live off this money B) are going broke even with this money. The smart people went into a 'what if' time machine and this is how they are front running the 100% inevitable union. A union of which will happen when money like this gets involved! They opened the door (NCAA) by being the most absolutely useless and corrupt entity on the planet made this happen, the irony that the single entity designed by the schools to make this never happen, not only made it happen, but it will be this very thing that they tried to prevent, that will make them not exist, for what is it that this corrupt entity does but ensure players don't get paid at the wrong time, or eat food on the wrong monday bought by an assistant linebackers coach? And when tuitions keep going up 15% more than inflation every single year, kids will just stop going (non sports kids anyway) which will make the price go up, or that we need 6 minute commercial breaks and longer half times and more reviews (makes more commercials) more gambling ads and so on. It will keep growing until it tops out and that is no more than 2030 away. Greed and arrogance always ruin everything, this will be no different. I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL, THE GAME, THE GAMES... not the outside of football games, that, while both relevant and inevitable are wrecking it, not today, but as we move forward. I'm calling a players strike within 5 years.

    Dude how can you say we are “ not a program” That’s a insult. It’s the transfer era, every team has more players coming and going than ever before. We are going into our second year, What was coach Prime suppose to do , get a team of freshman last year and struggle for 2, 3, 4 or 5 years. Furthermore there are plenty of teams that would had a similar record if they played CU schedule. Last year was year one for a coach taking over a 1-11 team who has one winning record in 15 years or so. You also predict that while CU has “better talent”than many of their Big 12 opponents they will struggle next year because “we are not a program, we are an experiment” - really. I thought you knew a lot about college football which for better or worse has everything to do with talent just as much if not more than culture - which we a building. Love it or hate it, CU is leading the way in the new transfer NIL era. We are selling exposure and development of players who want to go to the NFL. it’s just honest and the way it is / especially with only one year under our belts. We have some of the best players in all of college football. The only accurate thing you said was that “ the proof will be displayed on Saturdays on the filed” I like our chances ! Deon is so popular and polarizing that he gets far more crticism than other coaches. And btw, how about some props for a coach that cares about academics and has revived a once dominant program from the basement of CF OVER NIGHT. See you on Saturdays - GO BUFFS!!!!! GO PRIME!!!!

      As much as I believe in prime and Colorado he has a valid point. Teams that build mostly through the portal lack culture. Michigan just won it all wasn’t stacked with 5 & 4 stars in fact there the least talented team to win a natty in the playoff era. But they were tuff and dedicated to the program. They won because most of that roster was built through recruiting with adding a few players from the portal. Most of Alabama’s, Georgia, Texas, Ohio States roster are from recruiting only getting big needs in the portal. Teams in the past that go heavy in the portal with minimum recruiting just have lightning in a bottle seasons like MSU making a NY6 under Mel Tucker and then they fell off next year. Deion is essentially running Colorado like an NFL organization with how he’s using the portal. I think he’s bound for a lighting in the bottle season this year.

  • @Prince_like
    @Prince_like 5 часов назад

    Coach Prime got 72 kids from the portal his first year. His second year he’s only in the forty player range. The number has decreased significantly. There’s only so much talent that can go in the portal every season. He picked those players, but we all know that the real talent doesn’t enter the portal. It takes time to build a roster. And Coaches these days don’t get much time.

    Good job taking it like a man. All is good now. I never bought into it so it didn’t really bother me. But if you’re going to take the credit when you are right, stand up when you’re not right. Kudos! GBO!!!

      Not a fan of 8 minute commercial breaks 7 of which are about gambling? Gambling talk and ads throughout the game?

    Well I knew it was coming yet I still feel blindsided by the one thing that was keeping us from having a 2nd pro football league ($ in my mind $) and definitely is gonna ruin CFB as far as my enjoyment I'm not saying it will wholey for everyone!?!?!! The obsession of $$ from every direction nonstop is largely what got me from watching every damn NFL game regardless of teams involved or day of the week all the way to I rarely watch an entire Saints game now. For the better part of 30yrs Sunday Saints games was appointment viewing for me, getting up early to go get donuts or whatever for breakfast to grub on as I'm starting to ice down my beer while firing up the grill and prepping what meats I was desiring to taste that day and maybe what someone else liked too only because I can't watch football with almost no one, especially if their love of it wavered even a tad or they didn't truly know the sport and provided stupid or negative commentary about my team then I would usher them out quickly and emphatically so!!! I could not care less what X player signed for and bonuses maybe included along with their emotional state about the contract leaving them disgruntled by only making $10 million instead of $12 blah blah blah....i don't give a SHIT, I loved the game on the field and everything that entailed not the BS outside the chalk lines and now I will probably rarely watch an entire LSU game if its gonna include that same horse crap!!!! Sux for me I suppose...thx

    Feels like every week we are having another “major change of college football & athletics” im kinda missing the days when we had little to no changes a season. Those days from like around 2014-2019 when little would change besides players leaving for the nfl and occasionally coaching carousel change.

      2014-2019 was when college football was still college football. Unfortunately, it will never be that again.

      @@CoolHandLuke813 Personally, I think the high point of college football was the years between about 1983 and 1997. After that, changes started creeping in (inevitable ones, as the amateurism model was bound to collapse.)
